Before enrolling, please note the following:

ENGLISH 1-99
Most courses have no prerequisites, although English 94 requires sophomore standing.

ENGLISH 100-174
All courses require completion of at least one English course at the 20-99 level. Some courses have an additional prerequisite, noted following the course description.

ENGLISH 175-199
All courses are seminars requiring junior standing or above and successful completion of English 60 and 61. Additionally, English majors must have completed their critical practice and theory requirement, plus at least two courses at the 100-174 level. Writing majors must have completed three courses at the 100-174 level. Some courses have an additional prerequisite, noted following the course description. Courses with an asterisk* can be taken for graduate credit.
