Research Interests

Spectroscopy: We use linear solvation energy relationships (LSERs) to quantify the effects of intermolecular interactions on the absorbance and emission spectra of solvatochromic dyes.

Chromatography: We study the intermolecular interactions governing all modes of chromatography. We are currently developing a system selectivity cube (SSC) in order to compare the selectivity of different chromatographic systems.

Hobbies

Fishing, poetry, and sports

Inspirational Quote

"One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words. "   Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
